I used my friend Andrew's Mythscape TTRPG character and his family as the character subjects for this painting. I tried out a Character Creator workflow for the first time, which I enjoyed.

Photogrammetry scans from various hikes. I used a few of these in the final comp. These weren't necessary, but I wanted to test out using them in an environment painting. Fun process.

The Briar Curtain is a massive, magical wall that serves as the threshold between the safety of the Harborlands and the alluring and dangerous lands of the Bygone Frontier.

This painting was a wonderful chance to explore several new workflows. I learned how to use Character Creator to speed up my figure workflow. I also refamiliarized myself with Blender Octane and a newer version of 3D Coat.

I also took this project as an opportunity to incorporate some photogrammetry that I'd scanned on hikes around Texas.

(Also, this is a soft launch of my new Mythscape logo.)
